SCHOLARSHIP AND TUITION ASSISTANCE

McT Tuition and fees- The tuition for the 2026-27 academic year is $13,380 for Catholics students and $15,180 for non-Catholics per child not including uniforms and meals. The annual discount for a second child attending McT simultaneously is merely $380. Only if there are three overlapping siblings does a family receive about a $6000 discount in total to keep the cost for three under $40, 000 for Catholic families but well over $40,000 for non-Catholics. Fortunately, many of McT students qualify for financial aid, but even if a student receives full aid the remaining balance is in the range of $4000-6000 per child annually.

The majority of African American students qualify for state and federally funded financial aid. However, additional aid sponsored by McT or our partner schools is often based on criteria or a selection process that considers a select few. Hence, it is critically important that we create scholarships that recognize and reward the excellence of our own in areas of academic achievement, service, leadership, character, faith, athletics etc.

Furthermore, as circumstances can sometimes change, the need for general tuition assistance is paramount. We are aware of a few occasions in which third parties provided financial assistance when a family encountered hardships. But unfortunately sometimes loss of income, medical situations, etc have forced families to leave McGill-Toolen and on at least one occasion a senior student opted not to graduate rather than seek financial assistance of a few thousand dollars. We’re all aware of the African proverb “it takes a village.” That concept has been a constant in our community. We are a distinguished, accomplished body of alumni because of our village. It is incumbent that we continue to be a beacon of light for those navigating the roads we’ve already traveled but were made easier by those that came before us. Let’s do the same.
